Table Tennis - China vs USA

What to do after you find out the US consulate is closed for the next 4 days...go play ping pong against the locals!

Today we had a lazy morning and a series of status meetings on the US consulate situation.  Nothing we can do other than pray, put our trust in an awesome God, and have fun with limited resources.  Ping pong anyone?

The locals here spend a lot of time in the park and they have some great parks...fully equipped with table tennis and badminton, both very popular with all ages and skill levels.
Serious competition...the crowd goes wild.."U..S..A.....U..S.A!"
TJ & Owen after a tough battle with our new friend...FYI he put on his shirt for the photo following a shirtless match.

"Good game!"...or some Chinese version of that phrase.

Following a series of table tennis matches, we headed over to the exercise area of the park for a mid-day workout.  We watched, smiled, and joined in...quite fun and great to see all ages and abilities participating.

72, 73, 74, 75...that should do it for my third set.

Flexible in mind and body.

Busy exploring every new opportunity.

Fei continues to explore her environment and gain strength as she settles in to a routine.  She eats more than any child we have ever seen at this age...that includes Ellie, TJ, and Owen.  Like the rest of her family, she has not met a snack or meal that she doesn't like.  She is now laughing regularly...how precious to watch.

We continue to walk in awe of this entire experience...the story is unfolding unlike anything we could have imagined and the author isn't done yet.  We are all on a journey that draws us closer to each other and this recent Consulate incident reminds us how much we really are given each day by our creator...we are choosing to trust the author as we know the ending...Victory through Christ :)
